There are different types of wooden flooring that you need to know if you want wooden flooring instead of mosaic tiles in your house. The types are solid wood flooring, laminate floor (wood), engineered wood floor, and recycled wood floor. Of all these wooden flooring the engineered wood floor is the best option to go for. The solid wood floor will change its dimensions based on the temperature of the surroundings. The engineered wood floor will not change its dimensions as it consists of many layers of wood. The laminate floor is the cheapest option as it does not contain actual wood but instead wood fibers in-between layers of special paper imprinted with wooden grains.
Laminate floors can be in moist environments like bathrooms and basements. Moreover they can also withstand scratches. Comparing the lifespan of these, the engineered wood flooring has an edge over others. They last long when compared to the laminate wood floors. Different types of laminate floors for different types of traffic are also available. Comparing the resistance for stains, fade, impact and ease of maintenance the Laminate floor is better. It is also easy to install. Comparing to these the mosaic tiles are easy to maintain and can be used in any type of rooms and in any traffic. But you don’t get the warmth you get in the wooden floors.
